- Hang Mirrors: Mirrors create the illusion of more space. Hang a large mirror in a central location to create a focal point. In order to reflect light and create a nice ambiance, place the mirror behind a light source such as a candle or an overhanging lamp. The mirror can also be placed across from a window so that it will reflect the view and give the illusion of another window.

- Incorporate Light Colors: Using softer colors makes a room feel more spacious and brighter. Use only neutral colors in order to achieve this.
- Keep it clean: Avoid and remove clutter in all spaces but especially in small spaces. Small spaces should always look simple and clean.

- Think Vertical: Use vertical shelving in order to maximize on space and allow for more storage. and exciting ways to decorate the space.

- Hang High Curtains: This is a simple way of making the ceiling appear taller. To achieve this hang the curtain rod about 4 inches above the window frame.

- Double Duty Furniture: When living in small spaces having furniture with additional storage is essential. For example a coffee table can be used as a storage space in smaller spaces.
