Oracom Group, through its subsidiary company My Leader Kenya (MLK) has officially unveiled its 2022 election campaign strategies as a measure towards helping political players in the upcoming 2022 General elections achieve their goals through technology.
Speaking at the launch held on Wednesday in Nairobi, MLK founder Alphonce Juma said that MLK is committed to providing top cutting-edge digital and physical campaign tools to aspirants.
With the theme being, the role of technology in 2022 elections, Juma said that MLK has drafted a number of technology services like bulk SMS, short codes, ring back tones, web design, campaign call centers, social media management, targeted campaign ads, resource mobilization, graphic design and printing of campaign materials, and media services that will help aspirants directly communicate to their intended voters.
‘‘Technology interruptions have been experienced in every industry, including the political space and leaders need to embrace it or be left out,’’ Juma advises.
According to Juma, MLK has developed a parallel vote tallying system that aids in opinion polling and enables aspirants safeguard their votes through real time messaging.
Through its created data-driven campaign solution, he said that MLK aims to work with one aspirant per region and category on a first come first serve basis.
‘‘The designated aspirants will also attend My Leader workshops, TV interviews and radio features that will sell their campaign more to their voters,’’ he said.
The MLK founder also explained that the company is committed to issue-based politics and regularly, they will be providing citizens with in-depth information on aspirant’s profiles, manifestos and agendas, thus helping them make informed decisions.
‘‘The goal is to educate the voters. Through the MLK portal, citizens will find timely election campaign news and updates for a better Kenya,’’ Juma said.
In his address, Justice and Freedom Party Chairperson and presidential aspirant, Justus Juma said that MLK’s elections campaign strategy will help champion safe, efficient, and effective 2022 elections campaigns.
The presidential aspirant thanked MLK for their election campaigns solutions saying that he is conversant on the impact of technology on politics.
He urged political aspirants to make use of technology in themselves to the public.
According to independent candidate Lang’ata Member of Parliament aspirant, Fatma Adam Hussein, using technology in pushing her political ambitions has helped in her branding and harnessed effective communication to her voters.
“Technology is an area where female candidates have an equal footing when it comes to visibility in amplifying their campaign message, easier fundraising and reaching a larger audience unlike negotiations that are done in male clubs where women are locked out of important political decision making such as nominations.
This is simply because technology such as the new media only recognizes the algorithms and not one’s gender. Great news for a feminist like myself, so I urge my fellow female candidates to utilize technology and push for their campaign agenda”, Fatma said.
In his remarks, Alphonce Juma urged the aspirants of all caliber that intend to explore technology in their election campaigns to register through My Leader Kenya website-myleader.co.ke.
