Pita bread sandwiches are health and easy to make. Below is our recipe for a quick sandwich for people on the go. This Pita bread recipe is great for lunch and dinner.
Ingredients
½ kg of cooked chicken tenders
2 whole wheat pita breads
1 Medium red onion
1 lettuce
2 Cucumbers
2 Medium size tomatoes
Plain yogurt
2 clove of garlic crushed
1 lemon
Olive oil
Instructions for preparing the Sandwich:
Chop the onion, tomatoes and cucumbers. Tear the lettuce leaves into four parts one for each pita bread sandwich. For the yogurt mixture in a separate bowl add the yogurt, crushed garlic cloves and squeeze half a lemon juice. Mix well and set aside.
Place pan on a stove slightly grease the pan with 1 tablespoon of olive oil to warm up the pita bread pieces for a couple of minutes. Once cooled cut the two pita bread pieces into half.
Inside the pita bread pockets add the chicken tenders that are preheated, drizzle the yogurt mixture on top and add the lettuce pieces, tomatoes, cumbers and onions. Once the pita bread pockets have been filled drizzle with the yogurt mixture on top and enjoy with your favorite beverage.
