Ingredients
2 Cups of white rice
4 Cups of water
1/2 table spoon of Salt
1/4 cup of Oil
3 large Onions finely chopped
Spices (4 gloves, 1 Cinnamon stick, 4 cloves of garlic, small fresh ginger root, 4 Cardamom pods, five black pepper cons and a pinch of cumin powder)
2 medium size Carrots
3 medium size tomatoes
1/2 kilogram of steak goat meat
Equipment
One large Pot with a lid
1 Small Pot with a lid
Stirring spoon
Instructions for cooking goat stew
Pre-Cooking
Add steak goat meat to 4 cups of water in small pot, add one large onion and 1/2 table spoon of Salt.
Cover for about 20-25 minutes and let it cook.
After goat meat is done. Rinse white rice in a bowl and let it soak in water for about 25 minutes.
Cooking Instructions for Pilau
In a large pot, add 1/4 cup of Oil,
Add two large onions and sauté for 5 minutes until golden brown.
Add tomatoes together with all the spices above and carrots. Let it cook for 5 minutes until tomatoes soften.
Remove all the meat from the goat stew and cover for 5 minutes.
Add the 3 Cups of goat stew and let it boil.
Drain the water from the rice.
Add the rice and stir once.
Let it cook for 10-15 minutes until the water dissolves.
Then stir the rice one last time.
Cover and lower your heat let it cook for about 10 more minute.
Check to taste.
Serve with any garnish of your choice.
